The three new Bees

Barnet Mad site editor, Jaybee, has been on holiday and had missed the last three league matches and the arrival of two new Bees and since returning, yet another new Bee has arrived.

The first of the new signings was defender, Grant Basey from Charlton Athletic. Basey is a left sided central defender who can also play at left back and has made 53 first team appearances for the Valiants scoring 1 goal and also had a loan spell with Brentford in 2007, making nine first team appearances for the other Bees. As Barnet fans have already seen he has a very strong shot on him when he gets forward.

Barnet have also signed striker, Izale McLeod from Charlton. The 25 year old striker has not enjoyed the best of times since arriving at the Valley from MK Dons for £1,100,000 in 2007 after 54 goals in 116 league appearances for the Dons. McLeod started his career at Derby County where he made 39 league appearances for the Rams scoring 4 goals. He had a loan spell at Sheffield United in 2004 before joining MK Dons. McLeod has made only 7 league starts for Charlton in 3 years, while coming on as a substitute on 24 occasions. He scored just three league goals in all for Charlton and was loaned out to Colchester, Millwall and Peterborough. He has been beset with injuries and after being released by Charlton at the end of last season was invited to the Hive for training where it was discovered that was in need of a knee operation. Hopefully, the former England under 21 striker should be ready for first team action with the Bees in th near future.

The newest arrival is 19 year old defender, George Francomb from Norwich City. Francomb can play at either right back or in the centre of defence. He made his first team debut for the Canaries in the JPT match against Gillingham last season and has played for the Norwich first team this season against Blackburn Rovers in the Carling Cup. Francomb is expected to make his debut for the Bees tomorrow against Bradford City.

Barnet Mad welcomes all three arrivals to Underhill and wishes them a successful stay at the club.
