Barnet have signed, as expected, Republic of Ireland under 21 international, Darren Dennehy. Dennehy was released at the end of last season by Cardiff City and has played 11 times for the Irish under 21 side and 7 times for the under 19 side.
The 6ft 4” left sided, central defender played under Mark Stimson at Gillingham last season while on loan at the Kent club and made 19 league appearances for the Gills. He had been offered a move to the Priestfield but chose to join up again with Stimson at Underhill.
Dennehy began his career as a trainee at Everton before moving to Cardiff in 2008. He has also had two loan spells at Hereford United in 2009 making 13 first team appearances for the Bulls.
Meanwhile, the Bees’ out of contract striker, John O’Flynn is training with Bristol City and has gone on a tour of Sweden with the Championship club along with Albert Adomah who left Underhill for City earlier this month.
