Bees win tonight at Sixfields to go top of League Two

Northampton Town 1 Barnet 3

Barnet won their fourth league match in a row at Sixfields tonight to go top of League Two after being a goal down at half time. The Bees produced a stunning second half performance to take all three points.

Barnet manager, Ian Hendon made three changes from the side that won last Saturday at home to Notts County, Clovis Kamdjo, who played in the JPT match against Millwall, replacing the injured Daniel Leach at centre back, Yannick Bolasie, who started against Millwall, coming in for Albert Jarrett on the left wing and Jake Hyde starting in place of John O'Flynn who does not seem to have achieved match fitness yet.

The first half was fairly even with neither side really dominating. Barnet had more shots but the only shot on target came when the Cobblers took the lead on 30 minutes when Northampton defender, Ben Marshall, who is on loan from Stoke City saw his effort deflected past Jake Cole. It was the first goal that Cole had conceded in over four matches. Soon after, Cole was called on again to save following a Northampton corner.

Albert Adomah then had a shot just wide for the Bees and soon afterwards crossed for Yannick Bolasie to send a header wide of the post. At the other end, Adebayo Akinfenwa saw an effort go just wide of the post.

HT: Cobblers 1 Bees 0

Barnet came out in the second half determined to get back on level terms and six minutes later they did just that. Barnet were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area and Ahmed DEEN hit the free kick into the bottom right corner of the goal, curling his shot around the wall. It is the former Macclesfield player's first goal for the Bees.

On 57 minutes, Albert Jarrett was brought on in place of Albert Adomah with Bolasie switching to the right. Some after, a cross from Jarrett found Paul Furlong but his effort was just wide of the post.

On 63 minutes, John O'Flynn was brought on for Jake Hyde up front and two minutes later, Northampton's Ryan Gilligan was booked.

In the 68th minute, Paul FURLONG fired in a shot from inside the penalty area into the top right hand corner of the net to put the Bees 2-1 up. Two minutes later and the Bees were 3-1 up, John O'FLYNN grabbing his first goal of the season with a shot from inside the penalty box.

Just afterwards, Northampton made a substitution bringing on Abdul Osman for Craig Hinton. On 78 minutes, Jake Cole saved from Gary Mulligan. With four minutes of normal time remaining, Ryan O'Neill was booked for a foul on Marshall. Northampton brought on Joe Benjamin for Luke Boden. With less than a minute before the 90 minutes were up Cole saved from Mulligan.

Three minutes added time were played before the referee blew the final whistle for a 3-1 win for the Bees. Barnet had won their fifth match in a row; four of them league matches and now had moved to 1st place in League Two, with 13 points from 6 matches. . With most of the other League Two teams playing tomorrow, Barnet's place at the top of the table is likely to be short lived but I'm sure all Bees' fans will be enjoying the moment.

Barnet; Cole; O'Neill, Yakubu, Kamdjo, Deen; Adomah (Jarrett 58), Hughes, M Hyde, Bolasie; Furlong, J Hyde (O'Flynn 64).
