Barnet manager, Ian Hendon made one change from last Saturday’s match against Bury, bringing Mark Hughes into the side in place of Jake Hyde. Sixteen year old, Mauro Vilhete was named amongst the substitutes. Paul Furlong was deemed not fit to play. Crewe’s leading scorer, Calvin Zola failed a late fitness test.
The Bees started brightly with John O’Flynn, Mark Hughes, Albert Jarrett and Micah Hyde all having attempts on goal in the first ten minutes. Nicky Deverdics replaced David Livermore on 12 minutes.
In the next minute, however, Clayton Donaldson put the home side ahead. Deverdics, Albert Adomah and Hyde all had efforts on goal as Barnet tried to get back on level terms. On 23 minutes, the Bees were level when John O’FLYNN hit a shot from 20 yards into the top left hand corner of the goal for his fifteenth of the season.
Five minutes later and the Bees were in front, Matt LOCKWOOD scoring after a shot from outside the area got a deflection. Crewe pressed hard in an effort to gain an equaliser but the score remained the same by half time. It had been a lively performance from Barnet with 14 shots; 7 on target

The second half was quite even and the Bees looked as though they were heading for their second away win in three matches when Donaldson equalised for Crewe with just eight minutes remaining. So, the Bees had to settle for a point, but I’m sure many fans would have taken that at the start of the day. Next up; Accrington at Underhill next Saturday.
