Runaway league leaders Barnet slumped to their heaviest defeat of the season as Accrington secured a vital win to help them in their promotion push.
John Coleman's side went into the match full of confidence after stringing together five victories in a row and they secured all three points with an emphatic victory.
Lee McEvilly started the scoring with a first-half penalty, Rory Prendergast added a second on 55 minutes and late strikes from substitute Ian Craney and Paul Mullin completed the rout.
Barnet scored a late consolation goal through Giuliano Grazioli.
The scoreline could have been even greater but for the fine form of Barnet keeper Scott Tynan. The Bees shot-stopper produced fine first-half saves to deny McEvilly and Mike Flynn - the latter when he tipped over the Stanley player's powerful header.
