Goalkeepers:

Joe Anyon is a former England youth international who has made the first team goalkeeper’s jersey his own last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 101(1).

Chris Martin is a former youth team player at Vale Park who made his debut last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 41(1).

Defenders:

Adam Yates joined Port Vale in June 2009 from Morecambe. Yates was signed by Morecambe from Leek Town in 2006, having began his career at Crewe and having a loan spell at Halifax Town. He has played for the England National Game XI. He has been on loan this season at Burton Albion. He made over 100 league appearances for Morecambe. League Appearances for Port Vale: 15(4).

Lee Collins joined Vale on a six months loan from Wolves in August 2008. He moved to Port Vale in January 2009. He was on loan at Hereford United last season making 20 appearances for the Bulls. League appearances for Port Vale: 67, Goals: 2.

John McCombe signed for Vale in May 2008. He was previously with Hereford United and helped them gain promotion to League One in 2007/08. He made 32 appearances for the Bulls scoring 1 goal. He was previously with Huddersfield Town and had a short spell on loan at Torquay. League appearances for Port Vale: 51(3), Goals: 3.

Luke Prosser is a former captain of the Port Vale youth team who made his debut for Port Vale in 2007/08. He has spent time this season on loan at Salisbury City. League appearances for Port Vale: 29(4), Goals: 1.

Gareth Owen joined the club this season from Stockport County where he made nearly 100 league appearances. He had a loan spell earlier this season at Yeovil Town. He has also played for Oldham, Stoke City and Torquay. League appearances for Port Vale: 37, Goals: 1.

Midfield:

Sean Rigg is on loan from Bristol Rovers, where he has made over 50 league appearances for the Pirates, most of them as a substitute. He has had a loan spell at Grays and was also on loan at Forest Green Rovers this season. League appearances for Port Vale: 4(5), Goals: 2.

Doug Loft joined Vale from Brighton in June 2009. He scored two goals in 39 first team appearances in four years at Brighton before being released on a free transfer. He had a loan spell last season at Dagenham & Redbridge. League appearances for Port Vale: 14(3), Goals: 1.

Tommy Fraser joined Port Vale from Brighton in June 2009 on a free transfer. Fraser made over 100 appearances for Brighton scoring 3 goals. League Appearances for Port Vale: 23(2), Goals: 3.

Ross Davidson is another product of the youth system at Vale Park. He made his debut last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 15(11)

Simon Richman is a young player who made his first team debut last season. League appearances for Port Vale: 26(20), Goals: 5.

David Howland was signed from Birmingham on a six month loan last season and signed permanently for the club in May 2008. League appearances for Port Vale: 52(10), Goals: 3.

Anthony Griffith has been signed from Doncaster, having spent the season on loan at Halifax Town making 37 league appearances. He began his career at Doncaster Rovers and has played for Darlington and Stafford Rangers on loan. League appearances for Port Vale: 60(3).

Rob Taylor has signed from Nuneaton Borough after a successful trial in the reserves at Vale. He has also played for Redditch, Solihull Moors and Evesham United. League appearances for Port Vale: 26(17), Goals: 7.

Louis Dodds signed for Port Vale from Leicester City in July 2008. He had spells on loan at Northwich and Rochdale and spent most of last season on loan at Lincoln City. He made 44 appearnces for the Imps, scoring 9 goals. League appearances for Port Vale: 60(13), Goals: 12.

Kris Taylor joined Port Vale in the summer of 2009 after being released by Hereford United. He started his career at Walsall and has also played for Burton Albion. League appearances for Port Vale: 27, Goals: 1.

Jason Jarrett is an experienced player who has played for a number of clubs. He began his career at Blackpool and had a spell at Wrexham before establishing himself at Bury. In 2002 he joined Wigan for £75,000 where he made over 100 first team appearances in over 3 years. He moved to Norwich in 2005 but has failed to establish himself as a first team regular at any club since. He has had spells at Plymouth, Preston, Hull, Leicester, QPR, Oldham and Brighton before joining Vale in 2009. League appearances for Port Vale: 7(2).

Strikers:

Danny Glover is a product of the youth system. He is the son of the previous manager at Vale Park, Dean Glover. He has been on loan this season at Salisbury City and Rochdale. League appearances for Port Vale: 20(21), Goals: 4.

James Lawrie is a product of the youth system. League appearances for Port Vale: 8(19), Goals: 2.

Marc Richards is a player who has been with a number of clubs including Barnsley, Blackburn and Northampton and moved to Vale in the summer. League appearances for Port Vale: 78(10), Goals: 26.

Geoff Horsfield is a very experienced forward who began his career at Halifax Town where he scored 37 goals in just 30 league matches. Fulham snapped him up in 1998 for £300,000 and he scored 22 goals in 59 league appearances for the Cottagers before moving to Birmingham City for £2.25m in 2000. He scored 23 goals for the Blues before moving to Wigan for £1m and then subsequently to WBA for the same fee in 2003. He scored 14 goals for the Baggies and moved to Sheffield United in 2006 for £1.2m but failed to make an impact at Bramell Lane and had loan spells at Leeds, Leicester and Scunthorpe. He had a spell at Lincoln last season and joined Vale in the summer. League appearances for Port Vale: 1(7).

Lewis Haldane is on loan from Bristol Rovers where he has made over 150 appearances for the Pirates. He has also played on loan for Weston Super Mare, Forest Green Rovers and Oxford United. League appearances for Port Vale: 14(6), Goals: 1.

Craig Davies is on loan from Brighton. He had a loan spell earlier this season at Yeovil Town. He began his career at Manchester City and joined Italian club, Verona in 2006. After a loan spell at Wolves, he moved to Oldham Athletic in 2007 and made over 50 first team appearances for the Latics before joining Brighton in February 2009 following a loan spell at Stockport.
