Bees sign new goalkeeper

Barnet today (Thursday) added to their small squad by signing goalkeeper Robert Beckwith who had been on trial with the club. Beckwith, a 6ft 2" keeper, made his first appearance against Crystal Palace last month in the 100th year at Underhill anniversary match which ended in a 3-2 defeat for the Bees.

Beckwith subsequently kept three clean sheets against Northwood, St.Albans City and Histon and also played in the 4-0 defeat against Championship side, Watford. Beckwith made 19 first team appearances for Luton Town and also spent time on loan at Chesterfield.

Barnet have also signed 18 year old winger, Danny Hart, who made his first appearance against Farnborough last month and scored against Histon last Saturday. Hart has made 19 first team appearances for Boreham Wood who play in the Ryman Premier League.

Barnet have also signed six PROTEC players; Daniel Awolesi, an 18 year old, 6ft 1" defender, Rickelle Christian, an 18 year old right back, Joseph Owusu Tabiri, an 18 year old central midfielder, Ryan Mattos, an 18 year old striker, Dean Mason, an 18 year old midfielder and Philip Carpenter, a 17 year old goalkeeper. Mattos has scored 46 goals in the last two seasons for Barnet Under 18's.
