Anthony Thomas has been released on a free transfer by Barnet, making him the third player to be released since the end of the season. The two other players released being Sagi Burton and Giuliano Grazioli. Thomas was signed from Hemel Hempstead Town where he scored 77 goals in two seasons, impressing Paul Fairclough in the 2007 Herts Senior Cup Final against the Bees. He was previously with Edgware Town and Ashford Town. He scored 4 goals in 15 starts plus another 17 appearances as a substitute for the Bees last season. He scored his first goal at Dagenham & Redbridge with a blistering shot that burst the net, but was dropped soon after and later loaned to Blue Square South club, Cambridge City. He was brought back into the side for a spell towards the end of the season and he scored in the home games with Lincoln City and Wrexham and away at Mansfield Town.
