Fairclough looking for first ever win over Grimsby

Last Updated : 11-Mar-2008 by

Tomorrow (Tuesday), the Bees travel to Grimsby Town, who are currently 11th in the table with just 49 points from 36 matches. The Mariners are also through to the final of the JPT, having beating Morecambe 1-0 over two legs in the Northern area final. They will meet MK Dons in an all League Two final at Wembley in March. Barnet have never as much as won a single point against the Mariners in five previous meetings between the two clubs. In fact they have not yet scored a single goal!!! Let's hope that tomorrow's game changes that poor record.

Grimsby are managed by Alan Buckley who is in his third spell as manager at the club. He took over at Blundell Park last November, shortly before Grimsby's 1-0 win at Underhill. The Mariners have a rather poor home record having lost 7 times at home this season, though Barnet's is no better. Last Saturday, they lost 1-0 at home to MK Dons.

Grimsby will be without winger, Peter Till who injured his hip on Saturday. Barnet will be without the suspended Michael Leary and Jason Puncheon, while Adam Birchall and Kenny Gillet face late fitness tests. Keeper, Rob Beckwith will miss the match after being substituted at Notts County on Saturday. Lee Harrison deputises for him.

The last time that Barnet played on the 11th of March was in 2006 when they lost 3-0 away at……Grimsby Town!!!!
