Barnet and Hyde have only met once before this season when Hyde were Hyde United. It was in season 1988/89 in the final of the Clubcall Cup played at Telford’s ground, Barnet winning the trophy and the game on penalties after the game had finished 3-3 after extra time. George Reilly, Gary Poole and Dave Sansom were the scorers for the Bees and barnet won the penalty competition 5-3 with goals from Poole, Eddie Stein, Steve Ketteridge, Sansom and Frank Murphy.
In August, Barnet met Hyde at the Hive and the Bees won 3-2 with goals from Keanu Marsh-Brown, Mark Byrne and Jake Hyde.
