On Tuesday, Barnet travel to the Valley to play League One, Charlton Athletic in the 2nd round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The last time that the two clubs met was in a pre season friendly at Underhill in July with the Bees winning 2-0, Albert Adomah and Paul Furlong scoring the goals against a Charlton side that mainly contained squad players.
The two clubs have met each other three times before in competitive first team matches. The first time was in 1992 in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup at Charlton. The Valiants won 3-1 with Barnet's goal coming from Mark Carter.The other occasion when the two clubs met was over two legs in the 1st Round of the Coca Cola (League) Cup in 1995. The first match at Underhill ended goalless, but the return match at Charlton ended in a 2-0 win for the home side, who went through 2-0 on aggregate.
