Tonight, Barnet travel to the Valley in south London to play League One, Charlton Athletic a 1st round replay of the FA Cup. The first match ended in a goalless draw at Underhill earlier this month.
The First time that the two clubs met in a competitive match was in January 1992, when the Bees travelled to South London for a 3rd round FA Cup match. Charlton won the match 3-1 with Barnet's goal coming from Mark Carter. The Barnet side that day was; Pape, Poole, Naylor (Willis), Bodley, Howell, Horton, Wilson, Carter, Bull, Lowe (Murphy), Cooper.
In 1995 the clubs met, over two legs, in the 1st Round of the Coca Cola (League) Cup. The first match at Underhill ended goalless, but the return match at Charlton ended in a 2-0 win for the home side, who went through 2-0 on aggregate.
Last season, the two clubs met in the 2nd round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Barnet took the lead through a John O'Flynn goal early in the 1st half but eventually went out of the cup losing 4-1.
