Bees grab vital point in dramatic comeback at Field Mill

Barnet's 2-2 draw on Saturday at Mansfield Town put the Bees on 50 points and effectively made them safe. The Bees remain 15th in the table after coming back from 2-0 down at Field Mill. Anthony Thomas and Adam Birchall scored after they both came on as substitutes, the two goals coming in 7 minutes midway though the second half. Michael Boulding had put the Stags ahead in the first half and Matty Hamshaw had made it 2-0, 10 minutes into the second half.

Mansfield will be horrified at having thrown away a 2 goal lead which may prove very costly in the end. A win would have put them just a point behind Notts County, but as it is they are still 3 points adrift with both sides having 5 points remaining. Notts County lost 2-1 at Bury, who now have 52 points and must be now completely safe. Adam Rooney gave them a first half lead, but Danny Crow on loan from Peterborough drew County level in the second half only for Glynn Hurst to grab the points for Bury with a late winner. Bury remain 14th, while County are just above the drop zone in 22nd place on 41 points.

Accrington's 1-0 home win over Dagenham & Redbridge on Friday virtually secures their safety and puts them on 48 points. Phil Edwards scored the goal for Stanley, a goal that has left Dagenham & Redbridge looking very nervously over their shoulders at Mansfield. The Daggers are 21st in the table, with only 2 points from the last 7 matches. They are just 4 points above Mansfield and have played a game more.

Shrewsbury Town, with just one win all year, went down 4-1 at Chesterfield and are just 6 matches above Mansfield and seem to be in free fall. The Shrews should be safe but a couple of wins for the teams below them could change that. They are now 19th in the table following Macclesfield's 1-1 draw at Wrexham which gave Macclesfield 7 points from the last 3 games. Jamie Tolley put them ahead early in the second half before Steve Evans got an equaliser for desperate Wrexham. Macclesfield are 7 points above Mansfield who have a game in hand, while Wrexham now look doomed with a 7 point gap between them and safety though they do have game in hand on Mansfield and Notts County, the two teams above them.

Chester grabbed a fine point at promotion chasing Hereford who went 2-0 up through goals from Ben smith and former Barnet trialist, Gary Hooper. A Kevin Sandwith goal in the second half reduced the arrears and Kevin Ellison grabbed a point for Chester with a last minute penalty. Chester are 20th, 6 points above the drop zone.

Lincoln's poor form continued at home to MK Dons, with only a Ben Wright goal in a 2-1 home defeat. Carl Regan and Jemal Johnson scored for the promotion favourites. Lincoln have slipped to 16th, a point behind Barnet, on 49 pts but despite their dreadful form they should have enough points to keep them safe.
