Barnet's 2-0 away win at Accrington Stanley pushes the Bees up to 13th place in the table with 57 points and a win in either of their last two games will give them more points than last season. Neal Bishop's second gaol of the season and Michael Leary's first ever goal for Barnet gave the Bees the three points. It was Barnet's first ever win at Accrington.
Meanwhile, further down the table, things are really heating up. Micky Boulding's hat trick for Mansfield at home to Shrewsbury has really given the Stags hope that they can avoid the drop. The stags have taken 8 points from their last 5 games and are now only a single point behind Dagenham & Redbridge. Marc Pugh put the Shrews 1-0 up after only 2 minutes, but Boulding's hat trick gives the Stags a real chance of safety as they ran out 3-1 winners.
Dagenham & Redbridge went down 2-1 at troubled Rotherham. Goals by Mark Hudson and Danny Harrison gave the Millers a 2-0 lead at half time and despite Ben Strevens pulling a goal back for the Daggers, they went down 2-1. Dagenham have now taken just 3 points from their last 9 matches and unless they improve their form dramatically and quickly, they could easily become the first club promoted from the Conference to go straight back down again.
Notts County are still hovering nervously over the trap door too following their 1-0 defeat at bottom club, Wrexham. Neil Roberts' late goal means that the Dragons are not yet quite down, though it is still unlikely that they will stay up. They are still 6 points adrift with just 3 matches left. However, county are still in trouble as they are only 2 points above Mansfield and their form is poor and they have trouble scoring goals.
Chester are also still not safe following defeats this weekend. Chester went down 1-0 at Wycombe, who won thanks to a Scott McGleish goal. The defeat leaves Chester on 44 points from 43 games and they have a game in hand on the 3 sides below them. With just 2 points separating the 4 clubs above Wrexham, any of them could lose their league place at the end of the season. One of the most crucial clashes will be the game at Victoria Road on the final day of the season when Dagenham & Redbridge meet Mansfield Town which could end up deciding on which one of them goes down to the Blue Square Premier.
Meanwhile, congratulations to MK Dons and Peterborough United who clinched promotion to League One.
