Barnet drawn away in Herts Senior Cup

Last Updated : 08-Aug-2010 by

Barnet have been given a bye to the 2nd round in the Herts Senior Cup. In the 2nd round, the Bees will be away to either Hadley or Tring Athletic who meet in the 1st round. Hadley play in the Molten South Midlands Premier Division and last season finished as runners up in League One and were promoted.

Tring Athletic also play in the Premier Division and finished 3rd last season. In 2004, they knocked Barnet out of the tournament after winning on penalties in a 1st round tie at Tring, which had ended 1-1 after 90 minutes. Warren McBean scored the Bees goal. Tring won 4-2 on penalties, McBean and Damien Batt scoring for Barnet, while James Elmes and Andy Reilly missed from the spot.

Details of dates and kick off times will follow. Barnet Mad wishes to apologise for an earlier posting suggesting that Barnet had been drawn to play London Colney which arose from a received piece of misinformation. The Herts Senior Cup is for clubs from Step 5 of the pyramid upwards. London Colney, members of the South Midlands League Division One, are at step 6.
