Relegated Kettering Town shocked Barnet with this amazing win.

The Poppies who parted company with manager Carl Shutt on Friday had Dominic Genovese in charge for his first game and must have been delighted with his young players.

It was Barnet who made all the running when Junior Agogo had a left-footed 25-yarder saved by the superb Ian Bowling in Town's goal.

The Bees fans saw Mark Gower in fine form spraying passes to the strikers, but they were unable to break down the hard-tackling Kettering defence.

Karl Colley attempted a wild passback and Bowling was forced to head the ball for a throw-in.

After 12 minutes Ismail Yakabu had a right-footed shot deflected for a corner which was the Bees third of the game.

Moments later 19-year-old Colley was stretchered off.

Barnet continued to attack but to no avail, Neil Midgley Yakabu and Gower all went close.

The first real threat of the game on Barnet's goal came when Lee Clarke headed Craig Norman's free-kick, Danny Naisbitt was beaten and the Bees defenders seemed to stumble over each other with Matthew Langston heading into his own goal.

The Poppies were now leading without having one shot on target.

At the closing stages of the first half Kettering were forced to have nine men defending, but Agogo and Lee Flynn were still unable to score for the home team.

In the second half the game continued as in the first with Barnet making all the running and Kettering desperately defending.

At the other end Alex Revell had an excellent chance when he picked up Bowling's goal-kick but somehow managed to toe the ball well over the bar with just Naisbitt to beat.

On 69 minutes Clarke doubled the visitors lead when he picked up a great left-wing cross by Revell and hit a firm drive that came off the post.

Shortly after Craig Norman was unfortunate to be sent off after a clumsy tackle on Frazer Toms.

Barnet brought on subs Toby Oshitola and Craig Pope and played with four strikers and although they had 17 corners in the game to the visitors' nil they were still unable to score.
