Barnet Mad remembers the Munich Air Disaster
Article by Jaybee Wednesday, 6th February 2008
Manchester United and Manchester City playing on 50th anniversary of death of Busby Babes

Barnet Mad todays remembers the tragic air crash of 1958, when 23 passengers including 8 members of the Manchester united team flying back from the European Cup match sgainst Red star Belgrade died when the plane crashed on the runway in Munich.

The eight players who died were Eddie Colman, Tommy Taylor, David Pegg, Mark Jones, Roger Byrne, Billy Whelan, Geoff Bent and, of course, Duncan Edwards. Former Manchester City goalkeeper, Frank Swift was also killed that day.

We would ask all visitors to the Barnet Mad site to mark the occasion with a minute's silence, respecting the occasion in their own way.
