A round up of League Two action last night

Last night was a busy night in League Two, though, of course, Barnet were not playing. However, four of the bottom six were in action. Two of them met at Accrington where the home side, currently placed six from bottom met bottom of the table, Luton Town. The result was a goalless draw. Accrington are now on 30 points, 4 points above Barnet but they have played a game more. Luton remain bottom on 6 points, 17 points from safety.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth, currently 23rd got a great result away at play-off challengers, Dagenham & Redbridge winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from former Grays player, Mark Molesley three minutes into time added on at the end of the game. The Cherries win leaves them now just two points below Grimsby Town and safety and just five points behind the Bees though Barnet do have a game in hand.

It could have been an even worse night for Barnet. Grimsby led 2-0 at home to Morecambe at Blundell Park after an hour despite having Chris Llewellyn sent off just before half time. Adrian Forbes, whose spectacular overhead kick, won appoint for the Mariners recently at Underhill, scored both the goals for the home side. However, Grimsby's night ended disastrously as they let their two goal lead slip with Morecambe running out 3-2 winners with second half goals from Michael Twiss, Diarmuid O'Carroll and Garry Hunter. Grimsby remain 22nd, just two points clear of the drop zone and still three points behind Barnet and having played a game more. Chester, who did not play last night, remain in 21st place, behind Barnet on goal difference and having played two more games than the Bees.

In the other League Two match played last night, Rochdale won 2-1 at Darlington with goals from Adam Le Fondre and Adam Rundle. Pawal Abbott scored the Quakers' goal. Darlington had Ricky Ravenhill sent off just past the hour. There are rumours surrounding Darlington that they may be about to go into administration. The club are currently 7th, occupying the bottom play-off position but administration would probably end any realistic hopes of promotion as it did for Rotherham who suffered the same fate last season. Rochdale's win moved them up one place to 4th, just a point outside the automatic promotion places.
